With TV Sorrisi e canzoni the Sanremo Festival moves to social

Sorrisi launches web app that rewards the singer most tweeted by users with a special Telegatto

Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni will be on the front line to follow all the events surrounding the Sanremo Festival with special features and background in the magazine, online and on social networks.

This year, in addition to three special issues of the weekly and continuous updates on Sorrisi.com, Facebook and Twitter, Sorrisi will transform the Festival into a social challenge, moving the competition also onto Twitter. To mark the 64th edition of the song competition the magazine is launching the sanremo.sorrisi.com app, an initiative that rewards those who love sharing the most important moments of this annual appointment with Italian music and to enjoy the Festival also though the second screen experience.

All content from Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, with hashtags relating to Sanremo and the festival’s protagonists will be brought together in real time by Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni on a single social wall, accessible from all devices.

Fans and viewers can support the artists in competition by tweeting directly from the web app, and becoming themselves protagonists of a tweet competition: the winner will be the most social artist, or the most mentioned by users on Twitter that Sorrisi will reward with a Telegatto. For all the artists in competition, in the “Champions” or “New” categories, it will be possible to check the number of mentions received, as well as the sentiment, which will measure the mood of the fans.

But the challenge will also be between the users: points will be given for all activities conducted on Twitter – from a minimum for the creation of a post to a maximum if the tweet then appears on the official account of an artist. A list will be drawn up every day of the most active profiles and an interactive map will show the most engaged cities.

Plus, in the “Style Blog” area, there will be a space for fashion and style, with special contributions from Silvia Grilli, the editor of Grazia, Annalisa Monfreda, the editor of Donna Moderna, and Marina Bigi, the editor of TuStyle, who will comment live on the looks of the Festival’s protagonists.

The Sorrisi web app offer will also include additional content, videos, curiosities and interviews with the stars of the Festival will be posted every day by the editorial staff of the weekly, who will follow the festival live in Sanremo.

1952 -2012: Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni celebrates 60 years

In bookshops from 20 November 60 Anni di Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni - Una storia italiana

Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni, the magazine that has accompanied the history of music, television and lifestyle in Italy, celebrates its 60th anniversary. To celebrate this anniversary Sorrisi has produced a book “60 anni di Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni – Una storia italiana”, published by Mondadori, which describes the evolution of the Italy’s first entertainment.

“The story of Sorrisi coincides with the history of Italy from the postwar period to the present, as well as with the history of our dreams, those made of songs, films, TV shows and ‘recent and not so recent’ characters” says Aldo Vitali, editor of Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni. “It is of course also the story of a special magazine, the best-selling and most imitated, the most whimsical and sometimes, as you can see from the pictures and the covers in this book, the craziest. Above all, the most authoritative; so much so that it has been widely considered “the Bible of entertainment.” This book, based on Sorrisi’s astonishing archive, is a great adventure full of twists and emotions and a genuine treat for the eyes. We like to think that behind the many surprises on these pages, people will recognize the same curiosity, the same passion and the same soul with which we continue today to keep the spirit of Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni alive,” Vitali concluded.

The magazine has accompanied all the changes that have occurred in the world of entertainment – from the period in which songs were a unifying element for the whole country, to the emergence of television in the swinging ’60s, through the boom of commercial television in the ’80s, to the present day, with the advent of new channels, new technological platforms and new ways of using content – becoming an increasingly essential tool with which to navigate the vast array of programmes, films, music, books, technology, radio and all other forms of entertainment.

“60 anni di Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni – Una storia italiana “, with 400 photographs and a preface by Aldo Grasso, traces the history of entertainment in Italy. The book will be available from tomorrow in all bookshops at the price of €29, including a gift facsimile of the first issue of Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni.

Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni: starting from tomorrow an all-new magazine

Starting from tomorrow Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni will be a magazine completely renovated. The weekly, which for 60 years has been a reference point for show business is evolving in line with the changes taking place in the world of entertainment and will propose a new formula with an innovative editorial formula for readers interested in television and much more.

“The television and entertainment landscape has changed dramatically in recent years with the arrival of new channels, new platforms and new ways of using content”, said Aldo Vitali, editor of Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni. “With the new version of the magazine we want to offer to readers, often confused and looking for a guide, an authoritative tool to help them find their way through the vast array of television programmes, films, music, books, technology, radio and all the other various forms of entertainment”.

Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni, the undisputed leader in its segment, will have a new editorial approach, strengthening its ability to identify and satisfy the interests of its readers.
The magazine is divided into three distinct sections:

  • show news, with the most important news of the week
  • services, with more extensive and in-depth articles;
  • guides, featuring reviews, reports and suggestions for “consumption” and dedicated to main themes of the magazine: TV, cinema, music, web, technology

In particular, the TV Listings section, which will remain the fundamental reason for buying the magazine, will guide readers through the programmes: in fact, the classic schedules will be supported by a new double page highlighting the best programmes selected by the editorial staff: over 100 viewing suggestions every week.

Through the innovations on the web site Sorrisi.com and on the social networks Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/tvsorrisi) and Twitter (@tvsorrisi), Sorrisi will gather comments, reports, reviews, and identify new trends in audience taste. Among the various activities, the special initiative “Ho voglia di Sorrisi” (I want smiles) will be available: with a picture taken with a webcam or smartphone and uploaded to the dedicated mini-site users can become part of the magazine’s show.
