MONDADORI BOOKSTORE MA also arrives in Milan, with its eighth store in Italy. The new store in the green, Japanese-inspired bookstore format will open on Saturday, 16 September, starting at 10 a.m., inside the Bonola Shopping Centre.

Sansevieria, bonsai trees, and tall, curved furniture reminiscent of tree trunks furnish the approximately 150-square-metre bookstore, a new magnet for the cultural life of the area. The winning mix of multimedia, comfort, and sustainability gives rise to a “reader-friendly” space in keeping with the Japanese philosophy of Ma, from which the brand takes its name, and which offers a place to nourish the mind and to find a moment of respite from daily stress.

Among shelves of fiction, non-fiction, miscellaneous works, classics, manga, graphic novels, gadgets, interactive totems and reading and relaxation corners, visitors – supported by a team of young and passionate booksellers – will be able to have a totally new shopping experience and, at the same time, enjoy fun times thanks to literary events, book signings and all the other activities offered for young and old alike. A rich section of books, illustrated books, toys and educational games will also be dedicated to them to have fun and stimulate their creativity.

Concepts such as comfort, multimedia experiences and sustainability are reflected in both its architectural features and the materials used to achieve them, as well as in its editorial proposals and initiatives. This cultural environmentally-friendly concept is the result of the creativity and innovative ideas of a team of southern entrepreneurs: Paolantonio Serpe, CEO of MOOKS, Nello and Biagio Nunziata, owners of the popular clothing brand ZUIKI and Giuseppe Messina, an entrepreneur from Catania, in partnership with Mondadori Retail, the company at the head of the largest network of bookstores in Italy: Mondadori Store. MONDADORI BOOKSTORE MA has been located in Turin’s Officine S Shopping Centre since 6 January 2022, in Sestu, in the province of Cagliari, since 17 March, in the La corte del Sole Shopping Centre in Catania, in via Etnea, since 11 November, in Martignacco, in the province of Udine since last February, at the Città Fiera Shopping Centre and in Salerno since 10 March, at the Le Cotoniere Shopping Centre and at the Aurelia Antica Shopping Centre of Grossetto as of 6 May, since last 16 June in Gravellona Toce in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, at the Le Isole Shopping Centre and from next 16 September in Milan, inside the Bonola Shopping Centre. Other openings are planned for 2024 across important Italian cities.
