Piemme joined the Mondadori Group in 2003.
Today, the publisher has adopted a specific structure that harmoniously combines two souls, and it stands out as an essentially unique example in the book market, namely that of leading publisher in both children and adult sector.
In particular, Piemme heads the children’s sector thanks to the series Il Battello a Vapore which, together with other prestigious literature series for children and youth, has seen the popularity of characters and new series such as Ulysses Moore, Milla&Sugar and Gol!, and the character Geronimo Stilton.
In terms of fiction, extraordinary success was achieved through the books by Khaled Hosseini, which with The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns and And the Mountains Echoed, dominated the bestseller lists for quite some time.
Piemme also successfully developed a solid non-fiction line, with books on current affairs, memoirs and emotionally compelling personal accounts, as well as the popular women’s non-fiction line, inaugurated by the bestseller Falli soffrire by Sherry Argov.
In the religious sector, through its work with historic authors like Carlo Maria Martini and the non-fiction books by popes, from John Paul II to Pope Francis, Piemme expanded its production to include books providing testimonies of faith and life that are also of interest to the non-religious public.
The Piemme Freeway series was launched in 2009, with books aimed primarily at adolescent readers.
