The intention of the new Foundation is to create open and vital opportunities for cultural sharing, celebrating the most virtuous links between high and popular culture, to return to the principles of peaceful coexistence, inclusiveness and creativity.

Fondamenta will also be a place for thought and design, for the conception of new forms of cultural communication, but also for experimentation and hybridisation of the disciplines that make up the world of the ‘arts’.

GialloZafferano has welcomed two new talents to its team: Lulù Gargari and Sebastian Fitarau, former food creators of Zenzero Talent Agency. The official entry took place during the ‘Resident Chef Creator Day’, an event entirely dedicated to the recipes and content of our new food creators. During the day, Lulù Gargari’s healthy, tasty and affordable recipes alternated with Sebastian Fitarau’s contemporary, wholesome and meticulously prepared cooking. Thus continues our brand’s strategy of investing in the talent and expertise of young chefs, who, with their knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients and raw materials, combined with a strong dose of creativity, increasingly satisfy the interests of GialloZafferano foodlovers.

The students of the Master in Publishing of the Arnoldo and Alberto Mondadori Foundation came to Segrate to meet the professionals of our Group and discuss with them the challenges and opportunities of the publishing industry. It was a valuable opportunity to share different experiences and to present the professional paths of those who work every day in the creation and distribution of books.

The day was opened and welcomed by Francesca Rigolio, Head of Human Resources Books & Chief Diversity Officer of the Mondadori Group, followed by Arianna Carlessi, Talent Acquisition.

It was then time for the testimonials of colleagues from our publishing houses: Francesco Bozzi (Varia and Young Adult Editor, Mondadori), Gaia Caracciolo (Communications Specialist, Sperling & Kupfer) and Emanuela Parenza (Humanities Editor, Mondadori Education). In their speeches they gave passionate and engaging accounts of their work in our group.

The meeting was concluded by Lorenzo Garavaldi, Director of Strategic Marketing, Rights and Acquisitions, Trade Books Division, who told ten exemplary stories of the publishing industry and its dynamism.

Before saying goodbye, Chiara Capuzzi, Head of Purchasing Services and Real Estate, led the students on a tour of Palazzo Niemeyer to show and appreciate the architectural value of our headquarters.

Education: a fundamental human right. But the last school reform in Italy was decades ago.

We talked about it with the writer Marcello Fois, interviewed by Benedetta Miarelli of Studenti.it.

Education, like parenthood, is a relationship between generations, where the “old” and the “new” meet. It is a crucial moment, an ongoing process that transforms the young people of today into the main protagonists of our tomorrow.

But it is a system that needs to be constantly rethought, improved and revolutionised. Education cannot and must not be relegated to the sidelines or even the background, as it is the foundation of our society.

What has Mondadori Retail achieved in 2023 and what are the plans for 2024? Carmine Perna, CEO, met virtually with colleagues from the head office and booksellers from all Mondadori stores to share data and future strategies. It was an opportunity to highlight the evolution that our retail division has experienced over the past year, recording its best performance since 2015.

At the heart of this growth are our bookstores throughout Italy, which play a fundamental role in the dissemination of culture thanks to the wide range of titles on offer, the cultural events organised and the expertise of the booksellers and librarians. The development of our bookstores, both direct and affiliated, demonstrates our ongoing commitment to improving and expanding our presence in the territory, offering an increasingly attentive service to our readers.

We will also continue to invest in improving the customer experience through an increasingly omni-channel approach aimed at more relevant, timely and personalised communication.

Ready to bust another myth about inclusion?

In recent years, we have witnessed an explosion of issues related to diversity, equality and inclusion, concepts that are intrinsic to the human condition. But we also know how real the risk of exclusion and marginalisation is, because the encounter with the ‘other’ triggers strong and often uncontrollable reactions.

In his book, Daniele Regolo, who has been hearing impaired since early childhood, invites us to update our perspective: only by starting from an analysis of inner speech can we adopt a more adult approach to diversity and thus plan truly inclusive actions.

How? By working tirelessly to break down all kinds of barriers, whether physical or cultural, instinctive or deliberate.

The editors of Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni, Chi, Focus and Focus Junior presented the values and future strategies of our editorial brands by interacting with an extraordinary mediator: artificial intelligence.

This took place on Tuesday 30th January during the evening “Live Vision – the future of the brands”, an event organised by Piemme Media Platform, the exclusive distributor of the editorial brands, and Mondadori Media.

Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni, Chi, Focus and Focus Junior were the focus of interviews conducted by the talents of the TAAG! agency with the help of artificial intelligence. The conversations with the editors highlighted the importance of moving towards a greater enhancement of content with a multi-channel approach: from magazines to digital platforms, from events to talent.
