On the occasion of November 25, the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women,” we are standing by all victims of abuse with the initiative #InPiediControLaViolenza.
The heart of the project, the art installation that this week is hosted at Palazzo Niemeyer along the entire central walkway: 100 red chairs, only one of which is open, standing, a symbol of strength and resistance.
Conceived by the Mondadori Group together with photographer Nicola Ughi and director Tommaso Casigliani, the Red Chair becomes for us a symbol of personal awareness and collective commitment: an invitation to reflect on the role we all, men and women, have in sustaining a culture of respect and nonviolence.
The project is part of a broader path of social responsibility that the Mondadori Group has long undertaken together with its publishing houses, digital media, magazines and bookstores, with the aim of promoting equality, against all forms of gender-based violence.
