Today, November 25, is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and we at Mondadori Group want to continue to help spread awareness and take concrete action to promote a culture of respect and nonviolence.

For this reason, as part of our #InPiediControLaViolenza initiative, we organized the event “Convictions and Microaggressions. Between Bias and Artificial Intelligence,” an opportunity for discussion, dialogue and deep reflection.

“As a Group we have taken care of us, defining an identity that does not pretend to solve everything quickly, but is based on a constant and constructive dialogue with the people who are part of it,” Francesca Rigolio, Chief Sustainability Officer of the Mondadori Group, said at the opening, introducing the guests of the meeting.

With scientist Raffaella Tonini we approached the topic from a neuroscience perspective, exploring the unconscious mechanisms that activate those behaviors, actions or communications that convey negative messages. With Vittorio Lingiardi, psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, we delved into the impact that microaggressions have on individuals and organizations, while with economist Azzurra Rinaldi we discussed gender equality and economic violence. Andrea Notarnicola Cociani moderated the meeting.

The results of a survey involving female colleagues were also presented during the meeting to better understand the perception of hostile expressions and behaviors within our business context. Concluding the meeting was Antonio Porro, CEO of the Mondadori Group.

#NoiDellaMondadori work every day to promote concrete actions that eliminate bias and prevent the occurrence of microaggressions, with the goal of building a more inclusive company.
